This is the second time we have used Southern Hardwood Floors. This project we extended hardwoods throughout the rest of the house and refinished existing flooring. Turned out beautiful! We had James and the crew from Southern Hardwoods refinish the floors on our ground floor and extend them into a living room, shortly before moving into a new house in Cary. The final product was beautiful. He was able to do it without removing any trim or damaging drywall the. When we ran into an unexpected problem, he easily navigated the challenge. It’s evident that this company knows hardwoods well and cares about the quality of their craftmanship. The workers were polite, respectful and tidy. James patiently helped us figure out the right stain by trying it right there on the floor, and he gave great advice for maintaining the floors. After hearing about some other bids, we felt his prices were reasonable too.
We called several companies before deciding to hire James from Southern Hardwoods to install hardwoods in our downstairs. James had the most experience and knowledge of anyone who gave us an estimate, given his many years in business. We were very pleased that he gave us an estimate that was very reasonable. Given that he basically charged the same price as others who didn’t have his experience, it was an easy decision to hire him. We appreciated that James took a great deal of time to explain all our options of hardwoods and colors. He had a lot of pictures of previous jobs he did to give us a good idea of what to choose. James has a professional work crew and he was very involved with them during the process. We also appreciated the little extras he was able to help with during the project. The whole project went quickly and smoothly- removal of old carpet, installing the hardwoods, sanding, then staining and sealing. James and the crew were very professional and left the house very clean. We were so impressed with his work, we’ve him back twice since our downstairs project to install hardwoods in a couple rooms upstairs. We eventually plan to have him complete the rest of the upstairs. I would recommend James from Southern Hardwoods as the best value and service for the money when investing in hardwoods for your home.
